Internet Marketing - Silkcards, Web Services and Gemini Letters

When I was younger I held a job at the local OfficeMax store. Hustling around each day helping customers, stocking shelves and looking the part and anxiously awaiting the end of my shift.

Mr. Brown, a neighborhood regular, bumped into me while stopping by to pick up a few items for his business. I was assisting the front counter where customers where checking out. He asked me what my career and life plans where in the future in a grandfatherly kind of way.

I looked at him, young and excited, and replied; "a metaphysicist." This was a term that I had recently learned about while in High School.

He asked me what that meant. I replied its the study of "above and beyond reality." I could clearly see that he thought I was nuts and probably assumed was on drugs too.

I never did grow up to be a metaphysicist, but rather a webmaster. The similarity is I work with "meta content" everyday when developing websites. Meta tags are invisible sections of code that are literally "above" the body of the website and occurs prior to the site loading.

In 1993, he probably would of gave me the same strange reaction if I told him that I was gonna be a webmaster working with meta content!
